Keith and Voodoo during "puppy training"
The American Eskimo Dog is a "Spitz" type breed. Originally, they were registered only with the United Kennel Club (UKC). Then in 1994, the American Kennel Club (AKC) opened its registrations to the breed. Thus, it is very common today to find Eskies that are registered only by the UKC and other Eskies registered by both kennel clubs.
The American Eskimo Dog is second to none in intelligence and spirit. We breed toward heavy coat, heavy bone, solid proportion with exceptional movement, outgoing, loving disposition, and intelligence.
Our Eskies have had their eyes checked by a Board certified Opthalmologist. In addition, sometime after they reach the age of 2 our adult dogs are OFA certified clear of hip dysplasia. The Eskie is predominantly healthy, relatively free of inherited disorders and health problems.
Rebecca and Voodoo - all grown up
We believe that quality, exceptional health and loving disposition are more important than quantity. As such, we breed rarely and only keep two or three of the very best Eskies. Featured below are links to our three generations of Eskie females - from grandma Athena to her daughter, Voodoo; to Voodoo's daughter - our newest Eskie baby, Diva. And you will see a link to Rebecca;s new Eskie, Jed. You can see their pictures and pedigrees, by clicking on their names.
